Formlabs Introduces Digital Denture Resins to Increase Speed, Quality and Aesthetic of Dentures for Patients in Europe

Available in four Denture Base shades and six Denture Teeth shades, Denture Resins will enable dentists to streamline their workflows at a fraction of the cost of traditional denture creation.

Somerville, MA, 8 Jun 2021Formlabs, a leading 3D printing company, today announced its Digital Denture Resins, a set of Class IIa certified materials for 3D printing biocompatible dentures, are now available in the European Union, United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland. With four base or gingiva shades and six tooth shades, dental professionals can achieve lifelike aesthetics and truly customizable dentures. Available on Formlabs’ Form 3B and Form 2 3D printers, Denture Resins produce long term, high performance dentures easily and efficiently.

“About 50 million dentures are produced globally each year, but less than one percent of them are produced using digital workflows,” said Sam Wainwright, Formlabs Dental Product Manager. “By bringing our solution to the European market, we’re adding a versatile tool to unlock more efficient and effective digital denture workflows.”

With Formlabs’ Denture Resins, professionals can produce full dentures at just a fraction of the cost. The flexibility and repeatability of an entirely digital workflow makes treating edentulism less labor intensive and complex. The Formlabs 3D printing ecosystem enables dentists and technicians to produce completely 3D printed dentures that are unique to each patient and their needs. By adding Denture Base and Teeth to the vast collection of dental resins, Formlabs continues to expand access to the digital dental ecosystem of scanning, CAD software, and record-taking procedures.

Stephan Kreimer, MDT, Kreimer Dentallabor GmbH & Co. KG, said: “Digital Dentures with 3D printing open the door to new treatment possibilities. This workflow really saves valuable time and has several advantages compared to the conventional workflow, which is far more time consuming, complex, and has several more steps both in the clinical and lab side. 3D printing is also a great alternative to milling in two aspects: printing is a far less expensive solution and it allows printing more complex geometries given the technology.”
