*Material properties may vary based on part geometry, print orientation, print settings, temperature, and disinfection or sterilization methods used. Data were measured on post-cured samples printed on a Form 3B with 100µm LT Comfort Resin settings, washed in a Form Wash and cured in a Form Cure according to the Manufacturing Guide. Dental LT Comfort Resin was tested at NAMSA World Headquarters, OH, USA.
Washing
LT Comfort Resin may be washed using either a Formlabs-validated wash unit (1) or an ultrasonic wash unit (2).
The foundational step in any SLA post-processing workflow is to remove excess resin on the surface of the parts through an alcohol wash. Please refer to the material's manufacturing guide/IFU for washing instructions.

Curing
For biocompatible materials, post-curing is necessary to achieve the safety standards determined by regulatory agencies. Please follow the material’s manufacturing guide/IFU for proper post-processing.

FAQ
Dental LT Comfort Resin is a long-term biocompatible SLA material designed for in-house 3D printing of flexible occlusal splints, night guards, and bleaching trays. It offers enhanced comfort and durability that supports patient adoption and compliance with treatment plans.
Dental LT Comfort Resin is specifically formulated to be flexible rather than rigid, which improves patient comfort and encourages compliance. It is also designed to be easily polished to high optical transparency, reducing polishing time compared to less clear alternatives.
Yes. Dental LT Comfort Resin is certified biocompatible for skin contact and mucosal membrane contact, making it suitable for long-term intraoral appliances. It is manufactured in a Formlabs FDA-registered facility in Ohio within an ISO 13485 and EU MDR certified Quality Management System, inside a certified ISO Class 8 clean room. All applicable FDA registrations and CE markings are in place. You can view the ISO certification on the Formlabs website.
Post-processing involves two steps: washing and curing. First, wash parts in isopropyl alcohol to remove excess surface resin. Then post-cure the parts, which is required for biocompatible materials to meet the safety standards set by regulatory agencies. The exact settings for both steps are detailed in the Manufacturing Guide.
Formlabs provides a dedicated application guide covering the full production workflow and best practices. You can access it at the Application Guide for 3D Printing Occlusal Splints and Night Guards on the Formlabs Dental website.
Dental LT Comfort Resin has an elongation at break of 33%, a flexural strength of 21 MPa, a flexural modulus of 643 MPa, a Shore hardness of 75 D, and a notched Izod impact resistance of 98 J/m.
